Just Block Privacy Policy

Just Block ("the App") is a DNS-based ad and tracker blocking application. We are committed to keeping the App private and minimizing the information it handles.

Information We Collect

Just Block does not collect, store, or sell personal information about its users.

We do not operate servers that receive or store information from the App, and we do not use analytics, advertising SDKs, or user accounts.

VPN and DNS Traffic

Just Block uses Android's VpnService API to create a local VPN connection on your device. The VPN is used to inspect and process network traffic for the purpose of DNS-based blocking.

DNS queries are processed locally by the App. Just Block does not store your DNS queries or browsing history.

To resolve DNS queries, the App sends them to AdGuard's default DNS server at94.140.14.14. We chose AdGuard as it is a popular privacy-oriented DNS provider that supports DNS over QUIC. Routing queries through this DNS server also has the benefit of blocking many advertising domains by default. AdGuard's default DNS server is open to the public and free to use. We are not affiliated with AdGuard in any way.

Information Stored on Your Device

Just Block stores configuration information locally on your device. This may include:

Blocking preferences
DNS configuration
Enabled or disabled blocklists
User-configured blocklist URLs
Other application settings

This information is not transmitted to Just Block's servers.

Third-Party Blocklists

Just Block allows you to configure URLs from which third-party blocklists can be downloaded. Use this feature at your own risk.

When you enable a blocklist, your device connects directly to the configured URL to download the blocklist. These third-party websites are not operated or controlled by Just Block, and their privacy practices are governed by their respective privacy policies.

Only use blocklist sources that you trust.

Data Sharing and Sale

Just Block does not sell, rent, or share user information with third parties.

The App may communicate directly with third-party DNS providers and blocklist hosts when required to provide its functionality. These services may receive information associated with those network requests, such as DNS queries or your device's network address. Their handling of that information is governed by their respective privacy policies.

Data Retention and Deletion

Just Block does not retain user data on servers.

Application configuration is stored locally on your device. You can remove this information by clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App.

Children's Privacy

Just Block does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App's functionality or data practices change. Any updated version will be posted at this location with a new "Last updated" date.
